A Cocktail for Christian Living
The message of the Golden Rule was punctuated with Jesus saying, “A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.”
“Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before the people; and he divided the two fish among them all. And all ate and were filled; and they took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish. Those who had eaten the loaves numbered five thousand.” Mark 6:41-44
Crowds gathered from everywhere at “the level place” to be healed and cured. Jesus preached a powerful sermon of Beatitudes.
In Luke 5:1-11 Jesus recruits new disciples by showing them a miracle. But first he must get through their weary resignation.
My dad and I share our stories of call
Where do we find God?
How does God find us?
In sacred moments of serenity.
In the tranquility of an instant.
Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”
After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”
When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
