A 100 WORD GOOD FRIDAY SERMON:
Inspired by John 19:26-27

The soul of Jesus’ mother, is pierced with agony
(though once it magnified the Lord)
A handful of women and one beloved male disciple
Daring to witness this enemy of the state nailed to the tree.

Their presence ministers to Jesus and comforts each other.
It’s a sign to the world
There is still goodness in humanity
That resists the evil of empire

Jesus looks down with compassion
Uniting them:
Behold thy son.
Behold thy mother.

Behold
The realm of God
Close to the cross
Blessed by Jesus’ words
Heirs to the Kingdom
The Kin-dom – the family of God.
