“Breathe Peace”
A prayer poem based on John 20:19-31 with a dash of Psalm 16
Resurrected Christ,
You show me the path of life.
In your presence there is fullness of joy;
in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Breathe
Peace
entering locked doors of
churches
businesses
schools
prisons
Breathe
Peace
healing painful wounds of
virus infected lungs
systemic racism
loss
grief
Breathe
Peace
displacing fear of
illness
financial instability
uncertainty
“the other” people
Breathe
Peace
filling open empty arms of
those who are
yearning for touch
isolated
lonely
forgotten
Breathe
Peace into me
Move me with your Spirit.
Show me signs of your presence
so that through my belief my life may
breathe
peace
Entering locked doors
Healing painful wounds
Displacing fear
Filling open arms
Receiving your Holy Spirit, my heart is glad, my soul rejoices; and my body rests secure .
Amen
