A writer and communicator, preacher and pastor, truth teller and justice seeker, I follow Jesus as a United Methodist Christian. Through the lens of grace, I strive to share the Greater Message of God’s love for ever single person in accessible, meaningful, and hopefully provocative ways.
With all my heart, I believe that in order to find wholeness, those of us in places of privilege must first engage in repentance and repairing relationships with those who have been harmed by systems that support White supremacy, patriarchy, xenophobia, and homophobia.
My passion for social justice took root as a child in Ithaca, NY in the 1970s when my parents took me to political demonstrations – particularly peace rallies and anti-nuclear marches. As an adult, I have been active in both secular and faith based movements including Hope for our Neighbors in Need, Food not Bombs, Occupy Wall Street, Women’s March in NYC, Indivisible, and the New Sanctuary Coalition.
The thoughts and words expressed in this blog do not necessarily reflect those of the denomination or congregation where I serve.
